In the Lancaster area there are a number of Sports Centres and swmimming pools. Nearby is the seaside resort of Morecambe and the historic town of Lancaster with its Castle, Maritime Museum and spectucular Williamsons Memorial named after the town’s benefactor.
Meadow View Caravan Park is convenient for the Lake District and its attractions of fell walking, South Lakes Wild Animal Park and Lakes steamers. Also nearby are Ingleton Water Falls and White Scar Caves carved out of the limestone during the Ice Age.
Other attractions in the area include the Trough of Bowland, Beacon Fell, Leighton Hall, Abbot Hall and Levens Hall with its magnificent Gardens. Leighton Moss Bird Sanctuary and Docker Park Farm Visitor Centre are also popular attractions for all ages.
For a relaxing evening there are a number of olde worlde pubs and good eating establishments offering a variety of different cuisines.
